Who I am
I am a pediatric ER doctor, educator and dad to two great kids.
I work at a busy level 1 trauma children’s hospital in Austin, TX. I have spent most of my career educating young doctors or helping community emergency rooms improve pediatric care.
I am passionate about helping parents understand the facts when they have a sick or injured child. I feel this information should be easier to read and find on the internet.
Why I am doing this
I feel lucky that I love my job. I love helping parents when they are stressed and hopefully fixing things to make them feel empowered.
I’m passionate about helping parents understand pediatric care. While my friends and family could always call me, when I looked on the internet it was obvious why so many parents had the same questions about common things.
So I created this site to provide clear and concise information on common pediatric issues. The things we see and talk about every day. Fever, ear infections, belly pain, bumps to head, broken bones, and more!
What brought me here
I am a working pediatric emergency medicine specialist and educator that aims to improve pediatric care locally and nationally.
I completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then a pediatrics residency at Texas Children’s Hospital. I served an additional year after being selected as chief resident. I then completed an additional pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
I moved to Austin, Texas to help grow pediatric emergency care and since then have helped create one of the largest pediatric emergency medicine fellowships in the country. I serve locally as the chair of the faculty Senate for UT Austin Dell Medical School where I also serve as a fellowship director. Nationally, I serve as the national director of Pediatrics for US Acute Care solution and speak nationally at conferences to help improve pediatric ER in community emergency departments.
